ACS On Air: Sharing Our Story with the Local Community

Last week we did something a little different.
ACS was invited to appear on CAT Radio, a community radio station based in Crewe. It gave us such a good opportunity to talk about who we are, what we do, and why local charities like ours matter so much.

Mel, our Manager, and Chris, our Volunteer Coordinator, headed into the studio where they were joined by Pete from CVS, and together they chatted on air about the work happening across our community every single day.
We spoke about the wide range of support ACS provides and the people behind it — our volunteers. The conversation naturally turned to something many charities are facing right now: how hard it can be to recruit new volunteers. Still, we see every day how even a small amount of time from the right person can make a huge difference to someone who needs support.
It was a really positive, honest discussion. Not just about the challenges, but about the generosity and kindness that runs through our community. That’s what keeps organisations like ours going.
We’re so grateful to CAT Radio for inviting us on and giving local charities a platform to share what’s happening on the ground. Opportunities like this help more people understand the support that’s available — and how they might get involved.
