Volunteering

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Without them, there would be no Alsager Community Support. From giving lifts and collecting prescriptions to offering a listening ear, our volunteers make a real difference in people’s lives every single day.

Why volunteer?

  • Give something back to the community you love

  • Meet new people and make friends

  • Learn new skills and build confidence

  • Make a direct impact on the lives of local people

You will be provided with the appropriate training and support to build a friendly and supportive relationship with your assigned individual, providing companionship and a listening ear.

Become a Volunteer Shopper

Become a Volunteer Lunch Club Driver

Can you spare a couple of hours a week (even on an ad-hoc basis) to play a vital role in providing transportation assistance to seniors who attend the local Lunch Club on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon, for some their only opportunity to socialise or even leave their home? Why not join our team of volunteer Lunch Club Drivers.

As a Volunteer Lunch Club Driver, you will have the responsibility for ensuring your passengers safely arrive for lunch (12-1.15pm) and are returned home providing them joy gained in allowing them to meet friends and a link to the outside world.  You will be equipped with the appropriate training and support to enable you to successfully fulfil and enjoy your volunteer role.

Become a Volunteer Medical Driver

Can you spare an hour or so on an ad-hoc basis to play a vital role in providing transportation assistance to individuals who require support attending essential medical appointments? Why not join our team of volunteer Medical Drivers.

You will be provided with the appropriate training and support to enable you to successfully fulfil your role.

Become a Centre Volunteer

Can you spare at least three hours a week to play a vital role in providing support in our Advice and Information Centre?

As a Centre Volunteer, you’ll be a friendly face for people who walk through our doors looking for help, information, or simply someone who will listen.
